Hamilton Aqua-Date Vintage Dive watch, super Compressor case

Rare Hamilton Divers Aqua Date Divers watch in all-steel Super Compressor case. Dating to 1966 and considered a serious divers watch when introduced. The case used on this watch was also used on other rare models by other manufacturers such as Jaeger LeCoutre with their Polaris Alarm watch.

This vintage Hamilton Divers watch is one of the more unusual vintage watches I have put up for sale in sometime.
The watch features an all-steel dual crown case that is marked Super Compressor on the inside. There are arrows on both the caseback and the case middle, which indicate the proper position to start threading the watch together to ensure maximum water resistance. The case reference of this unusual model is 64040-3.
According to the warranty and inner case markings the watch was manufactured in 1965 and sold in 1966
The watch features a satin silver dial with black inner rotating chapter ring. The dial and chapter ring are in outstanding condition.
The watch is fitted with the 21 jewel automatic Hamilton calibre 64A, which was just serviced by my watchmaker and is keeping excellent time.
The watch comes on a choice of black or brown padded leather strap and will be sold with the original box and warranty papers. The watch measures 36 mm wide by 44 mm long.
