Name:
Used Rolex vintage Oysterdate circa 1953
Short Description:
Very Rare Early mid-size Rolex Oysterdate in stainless steel
Long Description:
A classic vintage Rolex Oysterdate, with a textured original dial and raised gold arrowhead markers.
The manual wind Rolex Oysterdate is perhaps one of the most durable models Rolex ever made, as the lack of the Automatic rotor system meant there were less parts to wear out and require servicing.
The watch carries a reference number of 6294 and the serial number dates the watch to 1953. The date code stamp inside teh caseback confirms the production date.
A sought after feature of this watch is the alternating red and black date wheel which was replaced by Rolex by around 1960. The genuine Rolex Alpha shaped hands are still fitted and have some aging to the radium compound inserts.
The watch was just completely serviced by my watchmaker and the Rolex calibre 1215 manual wind movement keeps excellent time.
The watch measures 34 mm across by 38 mm long and is supplied on the pictured vintage Oyster bracelet. As bracelet is a bit short at 6.25 inches, I will also include the buyers choice of black or brown leather straps.
