A rare example of an early Bubbleback dial. The original dial is rare in that it features the original script of the Rolex Oyster and below it, the word Perpetual. Later models indicated the brand Rolex and below it the words Oyster Perpetual..

The all original dial has luminous Arabic numbers at the hour positions and very delicate 1/5th of a second graduations between each second or minute marker. The dial has 2 light spots of discoloration caused by radium burn from the original  unique Rolex "pencil" hands, where they must have stopped and been stored while the watch was reading 4:32. Also note the red sweep seconds hand.

The case reference is 2940 and the serial number 310,xxx, dates this model to the mid 1940's. The case is in excellent condition with deep grooves between the lugs and excellent crisp knurling on the extra clean caseback.

The Rolex cal 630 chronometer grade movement was just serviced by an Authorized Rolex watchmaker and it keeps excellent time. Please note the original Rolex Oyster patent crown, that still screws down tight to the case tube.

The case measures 32mm wide by 39mm long and the watch is supplied on a new brown leather strap.
