This Omega Constellation dates to 1952, the very first year the Omega Constellation model was launched. This has been Omega’s premier line of wrist chronometers since its inception.
The watch features a stunning 2 toned aged waffle dial with arrowhead markers and a cross-hair pattern dividing the dial into quadrants. The dial has aged with a wonderful vintage patina. Appropriate for a classic which is now over 50 years old. I would describe the dial colours as parchment on the inside and gold on the outer ring.
The Omega Constellation calibre 354 bumper automatic movement is sparkling and in mint condition. The watch was just serviced and is functioning flawlessly. This model is a reference 2652-4SC.
Omega brought out the Constellation as a follow up to a series of Chronometers introduced in 1948. These were appropriately named “Century” to celebrate the companies Centennial. You can read about this model’s history from the Omega Museum site directly. Omega Constellation history
The steel case measures 34.5 mm wide by 42 mm long. The case features Omega’s original angled lug design for the Constellation and this watch comes with the original 10 sided crown that Omega intended for the watch.
This watch represents a significant part of Omega’s history and is a great looking watch for everyday wear.
