Antique Omega Chronograph with Exotic French Market case.

This vintage Omega Chronograph is perhaps the most significant Omega Chronograph I have owned.

The shape of this case with its layered horned lugs is so rare, that I have not seen it before. The case is made with solid 18 karat pink toned gold and is signed Omega on the inside of the case back. Information obtained from Omega by a collector who contacted me, reveals that the case was actually made for the French market.

The watch is fitted with the historically significant Omega chronograph caliber 33.3. The serial number on the movement, which is in the 10 million range, dates the watch to approximately 1945.

The movement was just serviced and is keeping time and all chrono functions are functioning as they should.

The all original 2 register dial is lightly patinaed with an original 2 tone pattern and gold foil Arabic numerals at the hour markers. The lighter outer chapter contains both an Tachymetre and Telemetre chapter, in a black and blue pattern.

A look at the side profile of this watch reveals a large stylish timepiece. Please note the teardrop shaped chronograph pushers at the 2 and 4 o’clock positions.

The case measures 38.5 mm wide by 46 mm long. The watch will be sold on a black leather strap.
