Rolex Oysterdate vintage watch with box and papers circa 1979

This vintage Rolex, comes with the original warranty papers and presentation box as well as the original hang tag.

The watch was bought in 1979. The serial number of the watch is in the 5.5 million range confirming the date of manufacture as late 1979.

The all original silver dial is in remarkable condition with no patina or aging. The dial is highlighted with silver stick markers and silver stick hands.

The watch is fitted with the ultra-reliable Rolex manual wind calibre 1225 movement, whose design can be traced back to the Rolex 10 1/2 hunter movements used during the World War 2 era.

The watch was just serviced and is keeping time and the only items changed was the crystal, which was replaced with a genuine Rolex factory part.

The watch measures 34 mm wide by 42.5 mm long. The watch is currently fitted on a period correct but sightly earlier folded Oyster bracelet from 1972. This was how I bought it from the previous owner but the watch can also be supplied on a leather strap for a lower price.

Price: Available on Request
Status: Sold
