One of the more unusual Rolex Oyster cases ever made. The case reference 3139, is essentially a square case with stepped sides model. It was sold either as a model called the Army or Everest.

I do know the Everest model was so named to commemorate the first flight by the Royal Air Force over Mt Everest, but I have no information to indicate why the other model was called Army.

The all original dial has some light patina on it which is always very difficult to see on black dial. The effect is more of a cloudy appearance on the clear lacquer as opposed to the brown spots you would see on a light or white dial.

The famed Rolex 10 1/2 Hunter manual wind movement was just serviced and is keeping great time.

The original Rolex Oyster Patent crown still screws down tightly to the tube but is not certified waterproof.

The case measures 29 mm wide by 36 mm long to the lugs tips and can be supplied on a black or brown leather strap.
