Rolex vintage Submariner model 5513 pointed crown guards and rare gilt dial

A rare vintage 1964 Rolex Submariner 5513 with gilt dial, pointed crown guard case and early non-chronometer movement.

This vintage Rolex Submariner model 5513 is from one of the earliest batches of 5513’s that I have come across. This model has the desired pointed crown guard case.
The model 5513 was introduced in 1963 and the earlier model 5512 was then elevated to a Chronometer rated watch with the Rolex calibre 1560 movement fitted in it.
This early 5513 Submariner is powered by a Rolex 1530 movement and dates to 1963 based on the serial number and the caseback inner stamping. The watch was just serviced by my Rolex trained watchmaker and keep excellent time.
The bracelet fitted to the watch is the original model 7206 riveted model with number 80 endpieces. The clasp is stamped with a date code of 1/64, confirming the likely sale date of the watch. The bracelet is a full length model with all 12 links still present.
The truly remarkable thing about this watch is the dial. Note the text on the dial is gold not white or silver and it has the inner minutes chapter ring. The presence of the small text marked T<25, which indicates it is one of the original tritium Submariner dials produced for an extremely short time during the transition from radium to Tritium, later Tritium dials did not have the inner minute chapter ring . The dial finish and evenly aged luminous is 100% original and correct. The watch measures 40mm wide and 48mm long from lug tip to lug tip.
