This vintage Tudor watch features an unusual combination of a steel oyster case, gold dial with gold hour and minute hands, but also a red arrow shaped seconds hand and red date wheel. The dial is also the older version with the desirable small rose emblem. The dial condition is excellent with a slightly metallic patina noticeable around the hour markers. The dial script and rose logo are impressive.
The case bears the reference number 7996 and appears to date to the 1960’s even though the caseback carries a presentation engraving of 1971. It was not uncommon for mechanical watches to sit unsold for a long period during the later part of the 1960’s due to the appearance of electronic watches. The all steel Rolex Tudor Oyster case is in fine condition and has had the seals replaced. This watch measures 34 mm wide by 41 mm long and can be supplied on a black or brown leather strap.
