Vintage Heuer Pasadena Chronograph

Rare Vintage Heuer chronograph and black coated case, automatic movement and all original.

A rare bird! This vintage Heuer Pasadena Chronograph dates to the mid 1980’s and uses the Valjoux 7750 chronograph movement, the same movement found in the famed IWC Fleiger Chronographs.
The watch case is solid stainless steel covered in a black anodized coating which is similar to PVD but a much earlier process. The coating is in excellent condition with only the sharpest narrow edges having the slightest wear on it. The solid steel caseback is marked with the case reference 280SL which identifies it as a Pasadena and also the movement reference 7750 is stamped on the outside of the caseback, another feature of this model.
The all original black dial is in mint condition. The mineral glass has one slight mark on it but as it was original I chose to leave it on as it was very minor. A new crystal could be fitted if the buyer chooses to have the original crystal changed.
The watch is supplied on a period correct perforated leather strap with what the previous and original owner said was the original coated but unsigned buckle. The crown is also unsigned but reportedly original. At first I was skeptical about this explanation so I ordered a replacement crown from Tag-Heuer and they shipped the exact same unsigned crown that is currently fitted on the watch.
The watch movement works as it should and all chronograph functions perform flawlessly.
The watch measures 41 mm wide by 46 mm long, making it larger than a Rolex Submariner.
