Vintage Rolex Viceroy watch

Extra Clean vintage Rolex classic from the 1940’s

The Rolex Viceroy is one of my favorite vintage Rolex watches simply because it is so unique in appearance.
The stepped flat top case with the porthole style dial window is one of Rolex’s most pleasing designs. The gold-filled case is in excellent shape with only the slightest points of wear on the very outside corners of the flat top section.
The Rolex Oyster Patent “Monks Head” crown is still all original with no wear on the gold filling and it still screws down tightly. Both the case reference, 3116 and the serial number 452,xxx, are still clearly visible on the stainless steel case back. The watch dates to the mid 1940’s. The watch is fitted with a Rolex manual wind 10 ½ hunter caliber 710 movement that is signed 3 stars on the regulator plate and is also adjusted to one position, this is one of Rolex’s more refined movements from the period.
The original Rolex dial has the very popular alternating even Arabic numbers and arrowhead markers; the hands are the original, correct and desirable lance shaped models. The watch is supplied on a tan leather strap. The watch measures 30mm wide by 39mm long.
