Vintage Itraco chronograph, tv case model
1970's style vintage Swiss Chronograph by Itraco, using Valjoux cal 7750 movement.
Itraco watches don't appear for sale very often and not many people know much about them. They are a Swiss brand that have used ebauche movements in some pretty unique looking designs. This vintage design from the 1970's is quite striking on the wrist today. During its heyday many manufacturers were using one version or another of this unusual design. Over time the style has become known as "TV shaped" given the rectangular crystal and face area. The watch is fitted with the highly regarded Valjoux 7750 movement. This movement in various forms is used on watches costing up to and over $30,000. The watch was recently serviced and is keeping great time and all the functions perform flawlessly. The all original 2 tone blue dial looks almost identical to other enamel dialed models I have seen and has a very rich look compared to other examples I have seen with a simple white or silver dial. The contrast of the florescent orange sweep seconds chrono hand is very distinctive. The watch measures 37 mm wide by 42 mm long and comes on a matching blue leather strap.
