Vintage Wittnauer Compressor Diver
Wittnauer twin crown divers watch with inner rotating bezel. This design is very similar in appearance to the Jaeger LeCoultre Polaris Alarm watch.
An impressive and bold vintage Wittnauer divers watch, with the patented Super Compressor case.
The large black dial features toned luminous markers. The popular Explorer style Arabic numerals are disrupted with the 3 O'clock position replaced with a date window. A rotating bezel sits inside the domed crystal between the outer edge of the dial and the inside edge of the case.
The watch still has the original signed crowns fitted. The caseback is the typical heavy steel screw down caseback found on the other Super Compressor cases made during the late 1960's. The inside of the caseback carries what appears to be the model number 8007 but also the movement calibre number also.
The watch is fitted with a 17 jewel Wittnauer signed movement calibre C11KAS with a 2 tone rotor. Overall the level of finish inside the case is unlike anything else I have seen from Wittnauer. The movement was just serviced by my watchmaker and keeps excellent time.
The case measures 38 mm wide by 43 mm long.
