Gallet Flying Officer vintage World Time Chronograph
One of the original Aviation Chronograph watches. Dating to the 1960's but the model originated in the 1940's and has a long military history as this model was issued to many air forces around the world.
A Gallet Flying Officer World Time Chronograph from the late 1960s. It is fitted with a Landeron 149 movement and was just serviced at Gallet.
The watch is light-faced and has beautiful patina. There it tritium lume on the 1-12. The bezel was just replaced with a new old stock bezel from Gallet, like the original with the red 12 on it. It also has a new old stock crown that was just installed.
The minute register tabulates to 45 minutes, which is a rare feature.
The dial is all correct and has "GALLET" printed in small letters below the 12 PM. Later Flying Officers used a more modern Gallet logo and said FLYING OFFICER on the lower part of the dial.
I should add that Gallet has introduced their new Flight Officer at BaselWorld, so interest in this watch and the brand is picking up.
The case measures 37x45x12.4mm and is fitted with a screw back.
