MeisterSinger No3 automatic wristwatch, with unique single hand display. This modern oversized watch, like other MeisterSinger watches, is designed and assembled in Germany.
What makes this watch so special are the design elements of a large silver dial with Arabic numerals as hour markers and only one silver hands rotating the dial. The hand is in essence an hour hand that moves around the dial every 12 hours. The markings between the hour markers are 5 minute graduations allowing the wearer to more precisely tell the time.
The MeisterSinger site explains “on a MeisterSinger single-handed watch The 12-hour dial is divided by 144 markers. Each marker represents 5 minutes. The combination of the bold 15, 30 and 45-minute markers and the prominent needle pointer make it easy to read time.”
The watch is powered by a MeisterSinger marked ETA automatic movement. This watch was purchased less than a year ago and is essentially in near mint condition. The leather strap has some evidence of wear mostly due to the marks made by the MeisterSinger signed steel buckle.
The watch works flawlessly and has design elements that remind me of the IWC Portugieser line of over-sized watches. The MeisterSinger No3 measures a massive 43 mm wide by 52 mm long and 12 mm thick. An almost non-existent bezel profile means that the dial covers almost all the width of the watch measured. Consider that a 40 mm Rolex Submariner has a dial that measures less than 30 mm.
