This 1970 Rolex Submariner 5513 has been serviced at the local Canadian Rolex head office. It is currently under a Worldwide Factory Service warranty till August 2104.
Although the watch dates to 1970 it looks brand new. The service included a new dial, set of hands, new insert, new crown and tube, new acrylic crystal, new gaskets and a brand new Rolex Oyster bracelet model 93150.
I have attached photos showing the scope of work as well as the cost of the service. $2,840 is more than some people spend on buying a watch much less having it cleaned and updated.
The service stemmed from the previous owner wanting to see the dial markers and hands glow in the dark. The rest was suggested by Rolex including the bracelet as it was brought in with a canvas NATO strap.
There are collectors that frown on this level of restoration but some buyers do prefer a fully restored and even updated model and this example covers that end of the spectrum in spades!
If you are looking to buy and update a Rolex Submariner 5513 this is likely a cheaper route.
The watch comes with all the service documents and is in a green Rolex service pouch.
The watch measures 40 mm wide excluding the crown and the bracelet comes with all links even though it has been sized.
