Elgin watches were quite popular over most of the 20th century and they produced some very collectible watches.
This model features a fancy case that has horned sides that are very similar to the fancy cased Patek Philippes of the 1950’s. This Elgin however dates to the 1920’s and is spectacular on the wrist.
The white dial has been restored and features gold Arabic numerals and gold leaf hour and minute hands with the classic sub seconds register above the 6 o’clock position.
The Elgin 7 jewel movement was just sreviced by my watchmaker and is keeping time.
The gold filled exotic shaped case measures 25.5 mm wide at the widest point and 43 mm long, the watch is supplied on a dark brown leather strap.
